‘Mettā’ in the Pali Language refers to compassion, and our goal as a non-profit Buddhist organization based in Australia is to empathize with the underprivileged and provide them with the assistance required to ameliorate their lives by providing shelter, food, health and education opportunities.
Mettā also opts to provide the means to the impoverished, to break the poverty cycle and assist them towards a path of self-relied sustenance.
We also believe that the financial aptitude of underprivileged should be guided based upon the ‘good-practices’ found in the Buddhist philosophy.
At Meththa we also believe that poverty alleviation could only be achieved through education, and thus our emphasis on providing education opportunities to the impoverished.
We also assist in the establishment and execution of various projects for the development of Buddhist Monasteries in Sri Lanka which are not supported by patrons in their respective geographical constituencies.
Furthermore, Meththa also remains committed to assist and support to social and religious welfare organizations already operating in Sri Lanka.
Our undertakings also include the propagation of Theravada Buddhism throughout the world, aimed at creating a more harmonious and empathizing global community.
