Vesak Bathing Buddha Ceremony
Members of the International Buddhist Cham Shan Temple of Australia will be holding a Vesak Day Celebration on Saturday 2 May 2009. The Vesak festival, or Buddha’s Birthday, celebrates the birth of the Buddha, a noble prince of northern India, more than 2500 years ago. Sakyamuni Buddha came to this world to lead by example, from birth to enlightenment to paranirvana, that we can achieve and walk the path of enlightenment.
We invite you to celebrate this auspicious occasion by joining us in the Bathing Buddha Ceremony and to learn about the life of the Buddha.
