Aloka Community Incorporated
Basics
Towards a sustainable and peaceful society
The interdependent nature of existence means the way we live has beneficial or harmful consequences for other beings. The transformation of society for the better starts with a spiritual lifestyle that is both socially and environmentally aware. Spiritual communities can more effectively create a sustainable and peaceful society.
Aloka Community Incorporated (Inc.) was set up in April 2007 to complement the activities of Aloka Meditation Centre at Peats Ridge on the NSW Central Coast and reach out to the broader community in Australia and abroad, irrespective of age, gender, culture or social status.
Since the establishment of the Aloka Meditation Centre in 1999, many Dhamma practitioners have benefited from the guidance of Aloka Spiritual Director, Venerable Mahinda, who, together with Sister Sumitra, has been teaching in Australia for more than 20 years.
The Aloka Community is the latest extension of their work for the welfare and happiness of all
Aloka Community aims to:
Foster a spiritual community supporting the personal Dhamma practice and well-being of its members.
Generate social and environmental awareness through educational, humanitarian and benevolent activities.
Provide humanitarian and community development services to disadvantaged individuals

HOMELESS PROJECT
COAST SHELTER
SATURDAY DECEMBER 19TH
On the 19th of December ACI will be providing lunch at Coast Shelter in Gosford, helping to feed the homeless in our local area.
A group of volunteers have kindly registered to help with food preparation, cooking and serving. We will be providing one hundred meals on the day.
In addition to lunch one hundred healthy hampers of non perishable food will be given away and there will also be a table of other items that people can select from and add to their hampers (eg. colouring in books and pencils for children).
The next step is to raise the funds to provide the ingredients for the meals and items for the hampers. We invite our members and friends of ACI to support this special day by making a cash donation.
Please send cheques payable to Aloka Community Incorporated to 50 Ross Road, Peats Ridge NSW 2250, or drop your donation at Aloka Meditation Centre, attention Trudi. Alternatively, money can be deposited to the bank account which is:
